Complex Cleantech Solutions: a visionary project
To effectively address global environment challenges requires a combination of technologies and innovative forms of cooperation. The Complex Cleantech Solutions (CCS) is a visionary and ambitious project that enables such requirement by utilizing the ‘Triple Helix Model’ of which Denmark is a leading example. The project is thus challenging traditional business models through the ‘Pull’ approach, in which participants cooperate in an open sphere and share knowledge freely thereby encouraging innovation.

Complex Cleantech Solutions requires not only to provide a unique value proposition to projects but also to develop a seamless relationship at the highest levels across the globe. The project has a long-term perspective and offers large scale innovative solutions such as those aimed at helping ‘Smart Cities’ and municipalities around the world achieve optimum levels of environment efficiency and ultimately aims at contributing to Danish business attractiveness.

The Complex Cleantech Solutions project has duration of three years and comes to end in June 2014. The project is almost entirely financed by the Danish Industry Foundation also known as Industriens Fond. The Foundation’s purpose is to develop and support innovative, inspirational and economically sustainable projects and initiatives that strengthen the competitiveness of Danish business and industry.

‘Co-Creating’ complex solutions
The project activities include an understanding of the global market for clean technologies and identifying complex environmental challenges. This means developing seamless relationships with international stakeholders while simultaneously assuring local stakeholders about the long term value creation from the project. To achieve this, the project is currently engaged in a market study which will research, analyze and document the global cleantech sector and identify complex environmental challenges therein. This report will be available to all Danish companies.

The project team has concurrently started the process of building relations with key stakeholders and influencers in various parts of the world especially in emerging markets such as Brazil, China, East Africa, India, Malaysia and UAE. The concept of ‘Co-Creating’ complex solutions combining Danish competences and local experiences has been very well received during discussions and widely acknowledged as an innovative approach to solving crucial complex challenges.

About the image of the Danish people
In this short video-clip, Neelabh Singh talks about the hospitality he has met in Denmark since he arrived there in March 2011.

How you are being received as a foreigner has a lot to do with how you act yourself, he says. If you meet hostilty, as has often been described in international media in relation to the previous government in Denmark, Neelabh Singh believes it is a mirror of your own behaviour:
