Stephan Grabowski: The meaning of India is… joy!

The Danish drummer and composer Stephan Grabowski takes us on a fantastic ride into the Indian music universe. In this interview, he explains the long term relation that he has been crafting with India during the past 20 years.

Ever since his first trip to India many years ago, Stephan Grabowski fell completely in love with the beautiful nature, beautiful people and the fantastic music there. This complex and fascinated reality was interesting for him because never before had he experienced a people that has such a strong capacity to preserve their tradition and avoid the ‘McDonald-way’ of growing, thinking and being.

One outcome of his experiences in India is that he composed the musical ‘The Bollywood Trip’ – an extraordinary performance that has been performed at The Republique Theatre in Copenhagen, and which was so successful that it has since then been exported to and presented in London and Montereal.
