Indian indies
Indian film is celebrating its 100 years and there is plenty of reason for excitement. Many Danes associate namely Indian film with soulful, grandiose Bollywood melodramas, but the world's largest movie country offers much more, and we now see a big wave of Indian independent films. Not necessarily as a counterweight to Bollywood, but also as a necessary development in the film industry.

Indian movie in Danish cinemas
The Indian feature film ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ will have its premiere in Denmark and in India at almost the same time. It is imported to Denmark by desiworld.dk and shown in cinemas in eight cities.

Beyond Bollywood
The Indian film industry has long been famous for its Hindi language films and most people associate the Indian film industry with the glamour from Bollywood. However, Bollywood only represents one side of the Indian film industry, and if you look beyond that you will see a vast variety of versatile film genres.In Copenhagen in August-September 2012, the film festival ‘Indian Indies’ presents the best and newest of the titles, that really helped to give the Indian independent film its breakthrough.
